My quote: "A letter lives in a powerful matrix of surroundings". It talks about a letter living in its surroundings so I decided to make the image mostly about the surroundings, with the font sitting amongst it.  I took the term "matrix" literally and created a matrix like background using the font I drew.  When designing the font I flaired the ends of each letter out to represent the clothing the characters in the matrix wear, which is capes.
